I believe my favourite books deserve a more than honourable mention and a page of their own. They pierced my heart and mind and they are simply unforgettable.
If I could read you for the first time again..
-
On Earth We'Re Briefly Gorgeous
by Ocean Vuong.
Still to this day, I have not found a book that makes me feel the way this did. It spoke to me and went straight through my broken heart.
-
The Song of Achilles
by Madeleine Miller.
What is there to say? The way Miller writes sensations, touch or smell is simply majestic. This book made me cry and it made me fall in love. I will always think about it and how it made me feel.
-
Orlando
by Virginia Woolf.
What an extraordinary text and what an extraordinary woman. Out of all her books I read, Orlando remains my favourite. I find it so innovative and groundbreaking. Her exploration of gender, its categories and its meaning is so interestingly developed and thought out, nothing compares to it.
